• Hollywood Bowl EastGate

The design of the Hollywood Bowl EASTGATE Bar and Concessions mirrors the circular motif of the world renown amphitheater.  Ms. Callas conceived cantilevered canopies – as large as 70 feet in diameter - covered in monofilament synthetic fabric, and illuminated by integrated LED lighting halos, to produce the paradoxical illusion of lightness in substantial mass.   The larger goal was to establish a visual mid-way point where the central bar, and its array of service venues, beckons the crowd like a metaphoric side-show barker backed by crossing Klieg Lights.  Upon this ethereal half-way station one marvels at the arriving humanity while taking refreshment and respite within an architecture anchored in, and amplifying the natural terrain.
