• A Shade of Cool

LAEYEWORKS is ground zero for the explosion of California Cool Shades.   The whimsical specs formed from the seemingly boundless imaginations of its founders plus, their dynamic marketing, suddenly made frames as sexy as the ones Marilyn donned in HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE.  The company’s founders wanted to renovate a concrete & bowtruss building (circa the 1950’s film) in order to combine functionalism for offices, marketing, and manufacture of iconic eyewear.  An open plan that used industrial material shaped in semi-private space and flooded with natural light to brighten its bold color work stations was the result.  The functional simplicity, comfort, and dynamic durability of the design have, over time, seamlessly adapted to the firm’s expansion to worldwide scope.
